“Why am I doing this anyway?”
Have you ever asked yourself that? I know I have on several occasions. It’s usually about the time you’ve been sitting on the edge of your comfort zone for an uncomfortable amount of time. It’s also a time that you’re about to turn a corner in your business.
When you are playing big and sitting on the edge of your comfort zone, it gets frustrating when you’re not getting the results you want fast enough. The frustration can build and then boom – you start asking yourself that question.
Too many people quit at this point. They decide they tried it, it doesn’t work, and they give up. Building your own business takes time, and sometimes you must trust that the timing is right. It may not be your timing, but in my experience, it’s always the right time. I don’t always understand this when I’m frustrated, and things aren’t happening as fast as I want them to, but it always turns out for the best.
You know that saying, “Be careful what you wish for because you may not want it when you get it”? It’s true. In my experience, if you trust that the timing is always right and keep moving forward with the end vision in mind, it always works out.
It’s important to remember this because What You Do Matters! You never know the ripple effect that what you do, write, say, or offer will have on someone. How it might just change their life for the better.
If you have a product, opportunity, or a service you believe in, it matters if you get it out into the world. You may very well be the answer for someone. I know I have had several instances that someone has said something to me, offered me something, or an opportunity that I have taken advantage of that changed my life for the better.
When I was offered the opportunity with Network Marketing, I would have never guessed how that would have changed my life. What if that consultant had not been bold enough to offer me that opportunity? I have also had the opportunity to work with several amazing coaches. They have helped me step out of my comfort zone, keep going, and continue to play bigger everyday. I would not have the amazing life I have today without these people. What if they had given up?
In turn, I have been able to touch and change others lives in ways I’m sure I don’t even know about.
You are building your business because you had a dream.
Mary Kay always said “If you have a dream in your heart, you have already been given the ability to achieve that dream.” You have that ability. For all the times you get frustrated, persevere! Soon the tide will change, you will reach your goals. In your perseverance, you will matter to someone. What you do could very well be a life changer for someone and you.
Here are five tips to stay connected to your Dream:
- Take a couple minutes in the morning and focus on your end vision.
- Visualize what you want your business to look like.
- Have a powerful affirmation you can repeat in the morning and throughout the day.
- Put reminders around your office or work space that support your dream.
- Ask yourself, “Who can I touch today?”
When you know what you do matters, it shines light on the people you touch and allows them to matter.
