We are being bombarded from every direction: politics, the news, work, family, etc. The energy is intense, and you may be swirling, feeling fatigued, unsettled, or even agitated.
It is more important than ever to make sure you are taking care of yourself! Not just giving yourself some self-care. That won’t cut it. Radical self-care is the answer to getting back your center, energy, and vitality. To keep out of reaction and get back into responding.
Radical Self-Care is critical to having the success you want with your family, relationships, and your work.
There is no shortcut here! You are your most important priority.
If that just triggered you a little, good!
Here’s why, when you don’t see yourself as a priority and you put yourself last behind everyone and everything, you will run out of gas. It’s just a matter of time.
The result of this is that the people you love the most get your worst. Your physical and mental health are affected. You spin out more quickly. You can’t perform at your best. You more easily go into doubt, and you’re not feeling good enough. It’s a slippery slope.
Radical Self-Care can eliminate all of this.
Self-care is very important. Self-care takes care of the body. This beautiful vehicle, you have been blessed with. It’s eating right, exercising, getting enough sleep, etc.
Radical Self-Care not only includes this but also adds Self-Care for the Soul. Radical Self-Care feeds the Soul.
It’s the place of bringing the “Spirit of Play” into your life.
The “Spirit of Play” is the essence of play. The lightness, fun, connection, and sense of freedom.
When you can bring this into your self-care practice, everything changes for the better.
You have the energy and vitality to be your best, feel deeply connected, bring your best to your family, create more successful relationships, and have more success and impact in your work. Most of all, you feel great. You have more energy and stamina, feel healthier, and are happier!
You may be thinking that sounds great, but how do I do that?
Here are a few things to get you started:
- Check in. Do you have a tendency to put yourself last? Do you often hear yourself saying, “I don’t have time to spend on myself,” “I’m too busy,” I’ll get to that once I…”?
- If the answer is yes, is there a boundary that is needed? If there is, then experiment with putting yourself first in little ways.
- Make the time you set aside for yourself a priority, a non-negotiable, instead of it being the first to disappear from your calendar.
Start small. Keep a judgment-free awareness around this. Be curious.
Whenever you can bring in curiosity, you are automatically bringing in the spirit of play.
