Appreciation, Trust, and Fear – What do they have to do with your Business?

Success

Appreciation, Trust, and Fear all must exist to have a successful business.

Being in appreciation is a very powerful place to be in business and in life. It is essential to creating the business you want, the income you want, and the lifestyle you want.

There are a couple of reasons appreciation is so powerful.

One reason is that when you are in appreciation, you are focused on what is working and what you have. This is important because when times get challenging (which they will), you may fall into the trap of focusing on what is not happening and what isn’t working.

Here’s the thing, “Energy Flows Where Attention Goes”. This means that whatever you are focused on, your energy is going into.

Do you want to put a lot of energy into what is not happening and not working, or do you want your attention and energy focused on what is happening and working?

You will create more of what you focus on, period! Have you ever heard the phrase “what you think about you bring about?”

The second thing appreciation does better than anything, is that it stops the spin.

What I mean by this, is that when you start to unravel, self-doubt begins to set in. You begin to spiral down, doubting if you can build your business, if you should even be building a business, who is going to listen to me, am I good enough, can I pull this off… yada yada yada.

When this happens, and yes it happens to all of us unless you are playing it totally safe, appreciation is what will stop this spin in its tracks.

When you get into this spin, the key is to catch it and just stop, take a breath, and look for something no matter how small to appreciate. Then find something else to appreciate and begin to build on it.

Pretty soon, you will begin to feel better and the spin slows down if not coming to a complete halt. Then it will allow you to see what is working, and you can begin again from an entirely new perspective.

Trust is also an essential part. Building a business isn’t easy. It doesn’t happen overnight, and it takes time. There will be ups and downs. However, if you can stay in a place of trust – trust in yourself, trust in your intuition, trust in the people around you, the ups and downs begin to level out.

You are your biggest challenge and obstacle. It’s when you can break through your limiting beliefs, subconscious patterns, habits, doubts, and fear that things change. You can then step into uncertainty with trust that things are really starting to change.

Trust is faith.

Trusting in the unseen, trusting your intuition, and paying attention to what is showing up around you. Also, who is showing up for you and allowing yourself to let them in.

Trusting that support is there if you only look. Trusting that people want you to be successful.

I come from the viewpoint that most people want you to be successful. I love watching people give it all they’ve got and succeeding. This is inspiration. If they can, you can.

Trusting that the universe is supportive.

When you can really sit in this place of trust it is so peaceful. You turn your stress into peace. The sky is the limit from this place.

You may also be thinking if I am in trust, then I won’t have any fear. Or, I hear people talk about all the time how important it is to get rid of the fear. I call BS on that.

Fear is also an essential piece to your success. It’s all in how you use it. Yes, you decide how you will use fear. Fear does not have to be a bad thing, and it’s part of all of us. It keeps us alive.

It depends if you use fear to stop you or you use it to pay attention and as a motivation to succeed. To step out of your comfort zone.

I was reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert a while back, and she talked about walking with your fear but not allowing yourself to make decisions from it. I loved this.

Fear can be your friend as long as you stay in the driver’s seat and not allow fear to take over. Yes, this is in your control. Play with it and practice it.

One tip to staying in the driver’s seat and keeping fear in the passenger seat is to bring in curiosity.

I have talked about curiosity a lot but it is magic. Coming from a place of curiosity most of the time puts fear in the backseat and opens up all kinds of new opportunities.

I invite you to experiment with being in appreciation and trusting the process and what is showing up for you. Take fear and use it as fuel and keep it in the passenger’s seat. Better yet bring along a little curiosity and let fear ride in the back.

By playing with and embracing appreciation, trust, and fear with a dose of curiosity you will find yourself being more courageous, peaceful, and successful.

Do what you love, impact the world and regret nothing!

As always would love to hear your thoughts.
