Happy New Year! Are You Ready for Your Best Year Yet?

Mindset, Success

I’m sure many of you have set your goals and intentions for 2018. You may have set intentions around income this New Year, relationships, growing your business, taking care of yourself more, etc.

To have your best year yet, get ready to create!

Yes, I said create.

It’s been coming up a lot around me, and I’ve been putting a lot of thought into this.

It’s time to stop working so hard and begin to create.

You are self-employed, an entrepreneur for a reason.

You aren’t working hard to have a life.

You are creating your life and business.

You get to choose.

So, let’s start the year out creating your business in a way that is aligned with the life you want to live.

Doesn’t that sound like so much more fun than the goals you are working on?

This is about creating what you want, connecting with people and sparking the flame that lights you up.  Being still and connecting to your higher self, being open to serendipity and magic.

It’s time to start listening and trusting yourself, tapping into your intuition, and following what you know.

“Be you, love you. All ways, always.”

Creating is also about space.  Leaving room in your calendar for opportunity to come up.  Creating space for self-care, space to breath, and allowing expansion to take place.  Space to visualize the business, income, and life you are creating.

Here are a few tips to get you started in creating exactly what you want in 2018:

  1. STOP working so hard. Come from the space of creating. I know that some of you right now are saying, “I’m not a creative person.” I know this because I have heard it from many of you including myself. I no longer say this because I have found that creativity comes in a lot of different forms.  Explore what your creative style is.  Some people like to start from a blank white slate and others want some structure that they can take and build on.  I’m part of the later.  What is yours? Play and explore with this.  Give yourself permission to explore new parts of yourself.
  2. Don’t try to figure out the how. What? You may be saying. If you are spending time trying to figure out how you are going to do something, you are spinning your wheels.  Figure out what you want and why you want it.  When you have this figured out, the how will show up.  If you want to break six figures or more this year, look at why you want to and what you want to be doing to create the income.  Try to keep from asking yourself, “Yeah, but how am I going to do that…”
  3. Keep open to opportunity. This takes trusting your intuition, what you know, and that the exact right thing will show up. This is why space is so important. When your calendar is jam packed, there is no room for opportunity to show up much less your having the time to take advantage of it.  Taking a jump in income and growing your business takes having a plan with space/flexibility. Don’t limit yourself by what you can see. Have faith & stay the course. You are fully supported.
  4. Keep business goals/intentions aligned with the life you want to live. Make sure you are checking in on where you are going. Do your business goals allow you to have the life you want? I had to really visit this last year. I set up some things in my business that conflicted with the life I want to live.  I let go of a program that was great but wasn’t right for me.  That was tough, but it opened space for something better to come in that does align with the life I want.
  5. Let go. Let go of perfectionism, control, and anything in your life that is no longer serving you, even if it’s hard. This is probably one of the toughest parts. You may be very attached to someone or something that is no longer serving you. To create something you have never created before and having your best year yet requires some house cleaning.
  6. Get uncomfortable. Step out to edge of your comfort zone. The view is amazing. There is an excitement that tingles in your belly when you are there. Yes, it’s scary and that’s okay. Fear is normal. Bring it along, and keep walking.  Fear can be good, it makes us more aware, alert, and on the ready.  Just don’t make your decisions from fear.
  7. Most important – Self-Care. – If you don’t take care of yourself, nurture your spirit, and take time to be still and centered, then most of this is not going to be possible. You’ll tap yourself dry. Self-care is critical to creation and manifestation. Keeping aligned, centered, and healthy is key. Having the energy and vitality to be successful in all the roles you have is exhilarating. Keep an eye on this one. It’s usually the first to go, but it’s the most important. You will have times when you fall out of this, but as long as you are aware you will be able stop, redirect, and get back on track.

Here is to a year of fun surprises, unexpected opportunity, and success you couldn’t have imagined.
