Other Cool Stuff

You know a lot of us have hang ups around sales. I know I did when I first started in sales 26 years ago (I was 10J).

But here’s the deal…

Sales is a non-optional skill if you want to grow your business.

 I get it. I hear this everyday…

“I don’t want to sound like a used car salesman…, I don’t want to be pushy…, I don’t like asking people for money…”, I feel like I’m taking advantage of someone if I take their money…, Selling is evil…”

I know these gremlin voices are in your head but they stop you from getting out and building your business. They keep you from being the powerful, amazing business owner you know you can be. They keep you small!

It’s time to be Bold, Courageous, and Powerful. You can nail sales and grow your business.

Selling is a skill you can learn. Most of us aren’t born salespeople. We develop the skill to sell.

Sales is an Honorable Profession!

Think about it, you wouldn’t have a home, car, groceries, cloths etc., if there wasn’t someone to sell it to you. Our entire economy is based on commerce – SALES.

As with all things, there are great salespeople and terrible salespeople. It depends on your intention when entering into a sales conversation. Is your intention to support, serve and fill a need? To do what is best for your prospect, customer, or client? Or, is your intention to get a sale whether it is good for your prospect or not?

Developing your sales skill is essential if you want to build your business.

Developing a unique approach to sales that feels comfortable and authentic to you is also essential.

To ease the gremlin voices and start to define your unique sales genius try these 4 steps:

  1. Define what you believe about sales. (I believe mastering sales = Freedom)
  2. Stay in your strengths – If you’re great at getting referrals and stink at networking, don’t beat your head against the wall focus on referrals.
  3. Focus on what’s in it for your prospect and help them get what they want. This takes you out of the picture so you aren’t so self-conscious.
  4. Be up front and directly communicate with your prospects.

Remember; when you help enough people get what they want, you’ll get what you want!

Happy Selling!
